Kabarnya, lagu ini merupakan bagian dari lagu trio yang berhubungan dengan trek "Dominic's Interlude" dan "I HATE EVERYBODY".

Melalui akun Twitter-nya, Halsey pernah mengemukakan alasan di balik pemberian judul lagu "Forever ... (is a long time)".

"'Forever ... (is a long time)' disebut begitu karena lagu ini menunjukkan perjalanan jatuh cinta dan kemudian disabotase dengan paranoid dan rasa cemas diri sendiri," cuit Halsey.
